Prayer Instincts

Neighborhood kids on our street, who don't have a lot of
places to turn for hope.
My prayer life has definitely changed over the last 3-4 years. I have talked a little about it before in some blogs and certainly still have some improvements to make. The other night we were watching a movie on our computer and over and over again I found myself instinctively praying for the main character and the tense situations she was in. This certainly points out that even at the age of 36 I have trouble separating TV from real life! But it was also very interesting for me to see that my first instinctive response to each tough situation was prayer. I can see how the daily situations I've been in the past couple years, where I've been keenly aware of my need, have tuned me to quickly go to God in prayer. The really sad part is that there was no religion included in the film at all, so each time I caught myself praying I realized that the main character was completely isolated and she really had no hope.

Seeing this feeling of isolation makes me think about the many people in the world who were not prayed for today. It is hard for me to imagine. We are so grateful to know that we have many people praying for us and for each prayer lifted up for our country and God's work through us. We can feel how this is another part of the body of Christ having an active impact on our part of the body of Christ, even across all the distance. Thank you.
