People Stepping Out in Faith

We have been wonderfully overwhelmed at the gracious way churches have welcomed us to speak and how these churches are supporting us in many different ways. We have been privileged to learn from these churches as we are walking together in partnership. For example, one of our supporting churches has many, many uncertainties in their future right now. It puts our moving to the West Africa in perspective, compared to looking at unknown changes for a large body of people. Yet, we have watched this church step out in faith to support us in an inspiring way. We know and understand from experience how most churches have struggles with budgets and downsizing. Yet another example that blew us away was a small rural congregation that recently received an unexpected large donation. Their response was to give 50% of it to mission. These people and congregations have been a great example for me of stepping out in faith, and ordering priorities and values around the work God is doing in the lives of others. It's encouraging to know that this is the type of support base that is coming along with us to the Sahel!
