Grumpy Time

We were a little surprised by the comments of someone who works in our country when we told them the dates we are arriving.  They suggested it was probably the grumpiest time of the year to interact with people!

Fortunately, it's not the absolutely hottest or wettest time of the year.  But it is getting close to the harvest time and so many families are typically running low on their food stores from last harvest, thus needing to eat less to make it stretch.  On top of that it's the time of the Ramadan fasting during the day until the end of July, so most people are going all day without eating until night time.

While I don't think this will be a big problem for interacting with people when we arrive, the time of year and it's affect on people's blood sugar is certainly not something we would have thought about before!  Now we have another set of holidays to put on our calendars and be aware of how they might affect us.
