God is Moving

The story I shared in my last blog about the new Christian dealing with so many problems is an exciting story because it reflects some of the flavor of what we see happening here in our country lately. It's exciting to see God doing powerful things here and we're grateful to be witnesses to this time. The neighborhood where this new Christian lives has witnessed this whole process, especially the curses screamed from one end and the peace of the Christians on the receiving end. It has been a source of wonder. Neighbors have stopped by the new disciple's home and asked questions like, "How could you and your children have kept silent when all those curses were said at you?" 

This is a growing area on the outskirts of the city and one group that is planting a new church there is already having multiple prayer meetings a week. There are intentional prayer meetings praying specifically for the Spirit to fall. God is faithful, and the believers have been able to give powerful messages of encouragement to each other. The woman from the mothers' assistance program who discipled the new believer is on fire with prayer, strength and the Holy Spirit's power.

We've also recently heard some visions that people have been given of a shadow passing over the Sahel. Not a shadow of evil, but a shadow of the protection of God, like God's wing providing cover. It gives me chills just thinking about it and makes me think of the song we used to sing, "Free, really free my friend. Freed by the blood of the Lamb. God's gonna move this place. God's gonna turn this world upside down!"  Thank you God!
