Terms of Endearment

December 2017 is the end of our first four year term in the Sahel! The good news is for us it hasn't been much of a difficult decision to know what to do. El Padre's work is in the early stages, so we would like to see the work until the CHE program is established and the national church is leading it. So we're committing to another two years working with the church in the Sahel. Down the road is open in so many ways, as we are don't know much about God's plan for our future after that.

There are so many emotions and variables that surround these decisions and I find the next decision that we will come to in two years weighing on me more than it should. There's the realization that our children are growing up. The Sahel has been an incredible experience for our children in many ways, but they don't have many social experiences. Are they going to regret not being part of soccer teams and dance classes?

Also wondering where else would we live and what other work would we do? When committing to terms, it isn't so easy to move when a job comes along. And honestly we have SOO many different ideas of what we would love to do that it is hard to imagine what we might do. If we come back to the States we will have to buy a car, home and re-set up everything, so how will that fit with our finances right now? And yet there are many exciting possibilities with continuing work with the church here. So I am working on dropping all these concerns and questions and trying to trust God's plan once again.
