Troubles

Cleaning up stones/ash outside the gate of a church in our town
This week we’re sharing blog posts written before the rioting that may be changing the status of Christians in our country. Everything we write and see now seems a little more trivial after seeing just a glimpse of what it’s like to be in a minority that can be so easily turned on. There are lots of news articles to read what happened in general, although we’ve found they tend to under report the extent of the damages to Christian institutions. The basics from us are that we are safe and had lots of help from our church partners to know what’s going on and where we should be to be the safest. We never felt in direct danger of bodily harm, but had some tense times waiting to see what would happen with our partners. We really value prayers for this country to be moved back into peaceful relationships, for the re-strengthening of Christians who have lost so much, and for wisdom for the church as it makes plans for a delicate immediate future. We hope to share more in newsletters and some more touching stories here as we have time!
