CHE Runs in the Blood

It feels like we sail a boat with all the complicated rigging
 and lines holding our mosquito nets together.

Ta da! No need to buy expensive custom
shelving when it comes free with your fridge...

So a big component of the CHE method that El Padre is working to introduce at the Bible Schools is to work on using what is readily available instead of waiting for unsustainable things to come from somewhere else. We obviously have more items "readily available" than the average person. And sadly to this “cleaner-up-er,” part of it is because we don’t throw anything away! As we look around our home, I think that we have this CHE understanding in our blood. We have strings holding up drapes. We have old refrigerator shelves added in the kitchen to make more "counter top."  We have mosquito net parts and a wire holding up our toilet paper in the bathroom. We have nails all around our house in our walls as places to hang clothing or even to get internet cables off the floor. We have the cloth that was holding our mattresses in rolls holding up school calendars and mosquito nets. El Padre has started now making hand washing stations that he might use in his teachings. So we now have old branches, oil containers and water bottles with foot pedals and tipping stations. I am grateful for a husband with all this ingenuity, effort and energy to create out of recyclables and garbage. Now for that solar oven – maybe for a Christmas gift! Don’t call me crazy, that is why I have been saving all that scrap aluminum foil!
