Friendly Advice

No matter how many years we live here and how many proverbs we learn, I suspect that in order to make good decisions, we will always have to have an advice friend. There certainly are things one gets used to in the culture. We have learned a lot. In fact, we often hear we are Casa people, so we live here well. But the neuro connections in our brains are wired differently. This doesn't mean we can't learn the culture. This does mean we will always approach a problem in a different way. Basically, we often feel that whatever we can do, a local can probably do even better.

This is what makes me so excited about the way that the church is setting up CHE to run here in our country. Currently El Padre is working together with a local Pastor “Joshua.” In some ways he is training him, but in many more ways they are learning together. There are some areas of knowledge that El Padre brings to the table, but Pastor Joshua brings so much more to the table as a true local, especially putting the CHE ideas in place and working with people in a culture that we have lived in for only 3 years.
