Easy Teasy update!

We are over a week post second leg / hip surgery for Easy Teasy and overall things are going well. The second surgery went more smoothly for a number of reasons. 
1.) He had less swelling post surgery.
2.) His epidural block didn't come undone and start to leak. (which took hours to figure out the first time)
3.) Quickly post surgery we started on a Tylenol / Ibuprofen pain schedule. (as the epidural doesn't cover all the pain)
4.) We didn't have to change a bandage at home for the first week!!!! (For the first surgery changing the bandage meant taking him out of the brace and putting him on his side to remove the sticky bandages and reapply new ones. It was a very difficult experience to do daily.) The doctors changed the bandage twice in the hospital, but we were spared this ordeal. Experience is golden as I heard the doctor say something about a week long bandage and was able to ask that this type of bandage be put on so we didn't have to change a bandage until a week post surgery. 

He did have two different challenges.
1.) Loss of blood and low blood count.
2.) A continuing low grade fever.

Post surgery the first time, Easy Teasy would fight his brace every time he woke up and cry to be let down. But at this point he is rather resigned to the fact that he is not able to walk or run around. In five weeks he will be able to sit without his brace and his brace will be modified so he can relearn to walk with his brace for another two months or so.
